Two companies released FY25 results with three others closing their books for final dividends.

IN BRIEF:
  • This week saw two companies release their FY25 results with East Africa Breweries Limited and Eaagads reporting 12 per cent and 29 per cent profit growth respectively.
East African Breweries Limited (EABL):
  • Announced FY25 Results: profit after tax grew 12 per cent to Sh12.2bn.
  • Declared final dividend of Sh5.50 per share. Book closure: 16th September 2025 Payment: 28th October 2025.
  • Bloomberg reported Diageo is conducting a strategic review of EABL, with a potential sale on the table.
Eaagads (EGAD):
  • Announced FY25 Results: Profit after tax grew 29 per cent to Sh11.8M.
  • No dividend was declared.
East Africa Portland Cement (PORT):
  • Kalahari Cement sought regulatory approval to acquire 29.2 per cent stake in the company at a price of Sh27.30 per share.
  • The 29.2 per cent stake will be acquired from Associated International Cement Ltd (14pc) and Cementia Holding AG (13.6pc).
  • The share price jumped 10 per cent to Sh52.25 early Friday following the news before retreating and closing the day at Sh50.75.
Safaricom (SCOM):
  • Closed books for FY25 final dividend of Sh0.65 on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • The share price dropped slightly by 1 per cent on Friday to close the week at Sh26.
Kapchorua Tea (KAPC):
  • Closed the books for FY25 final dividends of Sh25 on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • Share price dropped 8.5 per cent on Friday to close the week at Sh310.50.
Williamson Tea (WTK):
  • Closed the books for FY25 final dividends of Sh10 on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • Share price dropped 8.5 per cent on Friday to close the week at Sh224.50.
Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE):
  • Announced single share trading to commence 8th August 2025.
  • Extended suspension of Bamburi Cement to allow compulsory buyout of remaining shares
  • Paid FY24 final dividend of Sh0.32 per share on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • Share price was up 4.5 per cent this week closing at Sh10.35.

  • Total Energies paid FY24 final dividend of Sh1.92 per share on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • ABSA appointed former CBK board chair Mohammed Nyaoga as independent non-executive director.
  • Kenya Re paid FY24 final dividend of Sh0.15 per share on Friday, 1st August 2025.
  • Kengen unveiled maiden battery power storage site.
  • Umeme paid FY25 interim dividend of UGX222 per share on Thursday, 31st July 2025.
  • Nation Media Group's major shareholder restructured its shareholding with AKFED transferring majority shareholding to TRT Africa Holdings, an AKFED subsidiary.
  • Kenya Power reported connecting 401,863 new customers in the financial year ending 30th June 2025.
  • Dominic Grainger resigned from WPP Scangroup's board effective 31st July 2025.
  • KQ entered into an MOU with Air Tanzania for greater collaboration in route and network development, cargo, maintenance and repair operations (MRO), safety, innovation, and human resource cooperation.
  • Sanlam General Insurance Ltd to transfer its general insurance business for all classes to Jubillee-Allianz General Insurance (K) Ltd subject to regulatory approval.
