Nine startups pitch to investors at Safaricom Spark Accelerator Demo Day

The second cohort of start ups admitted to Safaricom Spark Accelerator showcased their innovations to investors in a bid to secure funding to scale their solutions.

Nine startups pitched their solutions to investors during Safaricom Spark Accelerator Program Investor Demo Day held at Safaricom’s headquarters on Friday.
The nine companies that pitched to investors include Mediakits, StockApp, LetaAI, Weplay, FlexPay, DigiTax, Oye, QuePay and GoPay.
The start ups were selected from over 200 applications to be part of the program’s second cohort.
The first cohort consisted of Chumz, Chpter, Faidi HR, HealthX, Churpy, VunaPay, Twiva, BlackRhino and Nobuk.
The Spark Accelerator Program, launched in 2024 following the restructuring of Safaricom’s Spark Fund, is a platform for founders to grow and scale their businesses by empowering their startups with the access they need to succeed.
The program is a partnership between Safaricom, M-PESA Africa and Sumitomo Corporation with iHub as the implementing partner.
The accelerator provides a blend of training, mentorship, funding and go-to-market support to spark the growth and scale of early-stage startups that come into the accelerator and set them up for long-term success.

The Investor Demo Day is an opportunity for startups to pitch their businesses to potential investors to secure seed or follow-on funding to scale.
It is the final stage of the accelerator program, a culmination of an intensive program where the startups go through a blend of training, mentorship, and go-to-market support to spark their growth and scale and set them up for long-term success.
The accelerator will open the applications for cohort 3 later this year.
Start ups that pitched
LetaAI
LetaAI are building logistics and delivery solution for enterprises with large enterprises like KFC, EABL already using their product.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • 50+ enterprise customers.
  • Conducted over 9 million deliveries.
  • Google is one of the investors in their business.
Oye
Oye are building a platform for boda boda riders where they can access fuel, insurance, loans etc. In return they earn fuel commissions which they use to provide free insurance to boda boda riders.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • Profitable as from Q2 2025 with a profit margin of 26%
  • 162% revenue growth in Q2 2025
  • 184% return on capital
QuePay
QuePay are building a platform for boda boda riders where they can access fuel, insurance, loans etc. In return they earn fuel commissions which they use to provide free insurance to boda boda riders.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • Sh6.5m($50K) transaction volume in December 2025
  • Sh19.5m($150K) transaction volume since launch in May 2025
  • Launched 2% take rate on trasaction volume in Q1 2026
FlexPay
FlexPay provides a merchant-embedded saving-based purchase experience called - Save Now Buy Later.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • Generated Sh143m($1.1m) revenue in 2025
  • Served over 350,000 customers since 2023
StockApp
StockApp are building Africa’s retail operating system to digitize over 100 million businesses.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • Generates Annual Recurring Revenue(ARR) of Sh4.55m ($35K)
  • Served over 5,000 stores across 50 countries
  • 52% of the revenue is generated outside Kenya.
MediaKits
MediaKits are building AI powered tools for creators to manage their businesses.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • 14,000+ active users (all organic).
  • Generated revenue of Sh5.2m($40K) in 5 months.
  • Have Sh13m($100K) in agency pipeline.
WePlay Arcade
WePlay Arcade are building a mobile-first e-sports gaming platform that allows players to battle in multi-player games with other players around the world.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • 17,000+ registered users
  • 35% of the users are monthly active
  • 200,000+ games played on their platform
  • 40% monthly paid gameplay
GoPay
GoPay are building a platform for boda boda riders where they can access fuel, insurance, loans etc. In return they earn fuel commissions which they use to provide free insurance to boda boda riders.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • Sh1.04B($8M) in fare collection processed since launch in 2021
  • 10,000+ daily active users
  • 500+ daily active buses
  • Engaged 8 transport companies including Super Metro, Enabled, Latema. 4 contracts secured.
  • 100,000+ parcels sent in 7 months
Digitax
Digitax provide tax-compliant e-invoicing solution commonly known in Kenya as eTIMS.
Here is their traction thus far:
  • 1000+ customers served since launch in 2024
  • Monthly recurring revenue at Sh6.63m($51K) as of April 2026
  • Generates a gross margin of 85%
  • 60% of the Kenyan insurance industry use their product.
Traction is as at the time of writing in May 2026 unless specified otherwise.
